Meth Use Increases the Likelihood of Abuse and Neglect in Households

Meth doesn’t only change the lives of the people that use it. For users that have children, abuse and neglect rates are high, affecting thousands every year:

Oklahoma is known to some as the meth capital of the world. Its prevalence may stem from the accessibility of drugs used to cook meth.


Detective Kyle Bruce, with Stillwater Police Department, said he used to work 1-2 meth labs a month in Stillwater alone. Now, with the prevalence of injection going down and smoking going up, labs are less common but use is increasing.
